National Field Services Manager (FSM), Regional Field Service Managers, and Technicians (Several-Positions) Job 1

GTech Networks, LLC provides Break-Fix services and miscellaneous computer-related services for several larger vendors.  Most of these jobs are bid at a fixed price on a "per job" or "per computer" or "per site" basis.  We are looking for a lead (National) FSM, several subordinate (Regional) FSMs from nationwide locations, and skilled entry-level technicians for regional field service work all over the nation.  The Lead FSM job will involve a significant amount of national travel.  Subordinate FSM's will involve a significant amount of regional travel, and technicians will typically remain within a defined local circle.  Jobs are typically bid on a "full-cost" basis, which accounts for travel and, where necessary, motel costs.  Since you have to eat anyway, meals are not normally compensated, unless it involves unusual circumstances.  All workers will be compensated as 1099 "Independent Contractors."  and can work on a full-or-part-time basis.  Entry-level technicians may qualify for this job via the GTech Networks Internship program, click the Internships link above in the left margin..  The FSM is expected to be a full-time job.

With little or no supervision, the Field Services Manager will be responsible for finding opportunities, obtaining contracts, and pursuing field-level break-fix, desktop rollout, and other technician-level work; recruiting and training sub-level field managers; and will be responsible for on-site quality assurance of all ongoing work, nationwide, including hands-on intervention when necessary.

Compensation Plan – It is anticipated that the FSM will be someone who has already shown an entrepreneurial capability, who will join GTech Networks, bringing any existing business base which he now manages.  GTech Networks will guarantee a Low-to-mid-level 1099 (independent contractor) pay, for the first 3 months, while the FSM is establishing a jobs base and hiring and training technicians.  GTech Networks will provide leads, guidance and hands-on training, where necessary.  This has grossed $1 Million for GTech Networks in years past, and has the the potential to grow to more than $1 Million annual gross.  There is lots of money to be made there, but it will take a special person; lots of travel; and some risk-taking. The risk is for you, not GTech Networks, we have been in that market for 10 years and seen it grow to a Million-dollar-a-year sales source. With our new 8(a), HUBZone, and Secret Clearance we can go places we we've never been before....as the Star-Treckies say.

65%-90% of all profit which his division generates will be paid to the FSM as a commission.  This includes business which he brings back to GTech Networks, all new business which he and his subordinate FSMs develop, and all new business which is assigned to his division by others in GTech Networks management structure.  The FSM will have the benefit of GTech Networks' long-standing goodwill in this market, our "Small, Disadvantaged Business" 8(a), our "HUBZone" bidder's preferences, and our Facility DoD Secret clearance.  All routine administration will be performed by GTech Networks' administrative staff; the FSM's will be responsible for all marketing, time and cost accounting, bit-and-piece and job analysis, job completion schedules; job quality control; customer satisfaction; and technician welfare.

The National FSM will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing subordinate FSMs throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Subordinate FSMs will normally perform the actual work, with their technician teams.  The National FSM will also be responsible for compensating subordinate FSMs, with subordinate FSMs receiving 65%-90% of the National FSM's  share of the fixed price. (GTech Networks will administer payroll, taxes, and all other 1099-related requirements, following the FSM's assignment instructions.)  Example, a typical job will have several hundred repetitive actions at, say $75 per job and will be performed in locations from Canada to Florida to the West Coast.  The lead FSM will receive 65% of the profit, and he will pass 65% of his share to his teams.  In this example, the FSM will receive 65% of the profit ($48.75) to pay himself and his team.  He will then pass 65% of his share to a subordinate FSM, and keep $17.06 MULTIPLIED BY THE NUMBER OF JOBS ACCOMPLISHED BY ALL TEAM MEMBERS.  Each subordinate FSM will then receive $31.69 for their share of each job performed, and pass 65% to the technician performing the work, and keep $11.09 MULTIPLIED BY THE NUMBER OF JOBS ACCOMPLISHED BY THE SUBORDINATE FSM's TEAM MEMBERS. The technician who performs the work will receive and keep $20.60 for each job which they complete, which typically equates to about $20.60 per hour, if they are efficient.  (Not a bad salary for a low-level technician.)  Local jobs may pay as little as $35 per job @ 90%, yielding shares or $3.15 (TIMES THE MULTIPLIER), 2.84 (TIMES THE MULTIPLIER), and $25.15 for the technician performing the work, using the same payment equation as above, but allocating a higher percentage of the profit to the field teams, to make up for the lower job-income-potential.  Actual percentages will be negotiated between GTech Networks Management and the National FSM, on a sliding scale, for each job - or each typical type of job, where repetitive jobs are assigned.

Work to be assigned by GTech Networks to the FSM teams will be all work of the break-fix, multi-site desktop rollouts, software upgrades, hardware refreshes, and other business similar to that, which he manages.  FSM Commissions will be paid on a monthly basis, with a three-month backlog of payments to be left on the company books.  Technician commissions will be paid every two weeks, with a one-week lag between receipt of an invoice for work completed (and a DELIGHTED CUSTOMER), and the paycheck mailing.  FSM's will be responsible for the ultimate customer experience, by direct communications with the customer during each technician's job completion reporting, whenever possible. It will be up to the FSM to decide whether to send the same technician back, send a different technician, or respond to the customer's needs personally. In no event will duplicate job payment be made for "call-back" rework. The initial technician will simply not be paid for work which results in negative customer feedback and/or call-back rework.

10% of FSM commissions will be left on the company books, as an interest-free loan, for marketing and future growth.  These funds will be available for withdrawal, by the FSM's upon GTech Networks’ graduation from the 8a program.

Talent pool – The FSM will be responsible for recruiting, training, and maintaining a pool of independent subcontractors who can represent GTech Networks in a favorable light in any market.  This pool of technicians will not normally be paid as “direct labor,” but rather as 1099 subcontractors.  The FSM will broker jobs to the subcontractor pool, recruiting one-time or on-going representatives in geographically dispersed locations.

Direct labor-mandated contracts for FSM operations may be assigned to the FSM, at the discretion of other managers.  GTech Networks may “hire” FSM pool personnel for job assignments, but the FSM will be compensated for the hired employee with a bonus, consisting of one-month's average pay for the technician who is "hired."  This bonus will be paid after the hired technician has performed satisfactorily, in the new job for two months.

STARTING Salary This is an "independent contractor" position (e.g., a 1099).  Contractors may work their own schedules, and must declare all 1099 salary on their income tax.  The IRS may, require 1099 contractors to pay quarterly tax payments, depending on other taxable income - consult your tax preparer.  After 1 year, 1099 employees may participate in company a-la-carte benefits package, including: 1 wk Sick Time after 1 year (paid by the company), contributory health insurance, contributory workman's compensation, and a future contributory 401K plan.  Of these, the only company-paid resource will be the sick time, which will be compensated at the average weekly pay for the previous year.  Health insurance, workman's comp, and 401K are only provided as a convenience, at the same cost as GTech Networks' current (discounted) rates.

Hours may be worked during daytime, evenings, weekends, or any mix desired - depending upon customer needs. The FSM will be responsible for determining if the assigned technician can perform the work at a mutually agreeable time with the customer.

There is no guarantee of 40 hours of work.  This depends, very much, on the customer feedback from the individual technicians.  FSM's will routinely broker more, higher-paying jobs to technicians with the most favorable customer ratings - and to the most profitable subordinate FSM teams.  FSM's will broker work as they see fit, without direction from GTech Networks, and their decision will be final.
